List: best books about the Royals

I made a list for the i newspaper of the best books about the Queen/Royal family.

You can find it here:

A list of books about the Royal Family

It goes nicely with my article about reaction to the Queen's death...

A couple of the books mentioned have featured on the blog in the past. Tina Brown's The Palace Papers, and in the post on John Banville's The Secret Guests there are links to other posts about the Royals.

  1. A subscriber only article. Oh well, we can't have everything.

    1. Oh I'm so sorry, I think they have moved behind a paywall - I don't blame them for wanting to monetize their content, so to speak, but I am sorry people can't see this. I actually can't see it myself now, I get no special treatment.

  2. Oh, well, if we can't see it we'll just have to discuss among ourselves! My favorite is Marion Crawford's The Little Princesses, which I read repeatedly as a child and spawned many happy hours of princess-play with my dolls' house (and helped to explain why there were no parents in the dolls' house; they were away ruling the kingdom while the daughters were being brought up).

    1. Mentioned briefly in my list! I love the idea of your enjoying it so much as a child, I can see there would be massive wish fulfilment. We were all princesses really....
I think you can see two articles a month from the i website: between royals and reviews I have written too many for them since september, and cannot see my own articles online....
