Xmas is Done: The Pictures Live On

As is usual on the blog, I did a large number of seasonal entries, each with one or more pictures. This year it seemed to me that the pictures were a particularly festive collection, and they looked lovely in the file where I collected them. So I put them on their own Pinterest page – which is here, and has links to all the individual entries if you want to know what books they illustrated or just to look at the blogposts.

And I thought they also deserved their own entry to mark the end of the festive season.  So here they are, from the violets of Advent via church and carol-singing, panto and pinups, mediaeval Xmas, desirable presents, a variety of Santas and some Magi, snowmen, capri pants, some Xmas hats and a mask.

  1. These are such lovely 'photos, Moira! You really chose them well, as ever. It certainly is a festive collection, and I'm glad you put them up on Pinterest, too.

    1. Thanks Margot - I find them very cheering to look at, they make me smile, so I hoped they might have the same effect on others.

  2. Moira, I like the representative pictures that you choose for your reviews. They go well with your posts and also tell their own stories.

    1. No! I wanted it to look much neater than this, but blogger really doesn't like dealing with pictures does it?

  4. I thought I had a favorite here (the woman in black mask at top) but then went through them and kept finding more I liked. Another favorite is the Gil Elvgren pinup picture.

    1. Oh thank you Tracy, that's lovely to hear, just the reaction I hoped for. I love the pinup (of its time!) and did think it was perfect for the book.
