If the photo wasn't in copyright I would add it to the entry. She has a knowing look on her face and I'm SURE she's plotting a way to get her hands on a fortune...<br /><br />http://www.photogravure.com/collection/searchResults.php?page=1&artist=Hill%20and%20Adamson&view=medium&file=HillandAdamson_08<br /><br />Her hat has no veil, but at that time a veil was a thing that looked rather like a lace apron. The string was tied around the crown of the hat or bonnet and could be pulled forward or draped back at will.Ken Nyehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08838597854722716546noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6129427507761315524.post-24860879537445939492014-05-05T14:17:36.531+01:002014-05-05T14:17:36.531+01:00I'm going to start noticing/collecting garden ...I'm going to start noticing/collecting garden hats everywhere now, thanks for the Christie tipoff, I'm sure you're right!Clothes In Bookshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14680610242823846662noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6129427507761315524.post-186630127016374732014-05-05T13:05:40.030+01:002014-05-05T13:05:40.030+01:00Oh my goodness, I just went and looked them up on ...Oh my goodness, I just went and looked them up on Google images - there are some corkers there. TV anchors are wearing big hats, and footage is shown of women with big-brimmed hats, and some rather wild. Have you seen these?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
