He has written a lot of books and on a variety of topics. I saw that he wrote a non-fiction book titled A Turn in the South, about his travels through the American South. The New York Times review was titled REDNECKS, MILLIONAIRES AND CATFISH FARMS. I may have to try that.TracyKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08303342674824383688noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6129427507761315524.post-61018035406405645452015-04-19T11:07:58.013+01:002015-04-19T11:07:58.013+01:00I love it when a Nobel-Prize-Winner's book tur...I love it when a Nobel-Prize-Winner's book turns out to be a good read - not always the case, but honestly this is great. You make a very interesting point about the dialogue too. From the snippet you've shared, it is indeed clear, even though it's a different variety of English. Doing that kind of shift effectively takes a deft hand. I have not read THE MYSTIC MASSEUR. I have never worn a "dhoti," not that I know how to, and prefer pyjamas with kurta. The traditional dhoti is still in vogue, especially among Hindu priests, people of earlier generations, and in small towns and villages.Prashant C.
