Yes, Simon Brett & Charles Paris were on my longlist: the book I did on the blog recently was more radio than theatre, but I have read several of the others. I remember very much enjoying one set in a musical production of She Stoops To Conquer, renamed' Conker!' It made me laugh a lot.Clothes In Bookshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14680610242823846662noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6129427507761315524.post-15002761831367219702015-10-02T22:46:45.534+01:002015-10-02T22:46:45.534+01:00I loved your list too Chrissie, though you added t...I loved your list too Chrissie, though you added to my TBR! I don't read a lot a crime, but I really enjoyed this, and it kept me thoroughly entertained on a four-hour train journey. And there's Margaret Drabble's The Garrick Year (one of the favourites of my youth), which I suppose is more about relationships than the theatre itself, but the setting couldn't be much more theatrical, and there are some wonderful descriptions of the heroine's somewhat idiosyncratic clothes. Her Cassandra James stories are terrific. You've got some great entries here. I have to say, I have a soft spot for Simon Brett's Charles Paris novels. I like the stories, the wit, the whole thing.
