Clothes in Books on Substack - like following, only better

A New Departure for Clothes in Books....

Substack

People used to be able to 'follow' my blog and get an email every time I published a new post. This possibility has disappeared, and a number of people have asked if there was a way to keep informed.

So I'm planning a Substack, a regular newsletter which would list recent posts. I'm thinking of once a week, so usually listing 3 posts, with links and a few highlights.

This is ABSOLUTELY FREE, you just have to give your email in the box top right of the page (which will stay there), or you can do it here:

This doesn't affect any other aspect of my blogging, and if you are happy with the current system you need do nothing, and nothing will change.

But if you would like to see the highlights, or, tbh, just to show your support for me, do please sign up. Remember, it is free... you will be offered a 'pledge' version, but there is no need to take that up.

  1. I check your blog every day but I subscribed anyhow. Wasn't sure about the pledge, maybe someday....

    1. Marty, thank you so much, that was I was hoping for, that my regulars would sign up too!
And please don't worry about pledging - you contribute enough. Substack say you should offer the option, but my main purpose is helping people who want to hear when I have new posts.

Yes, like Marty, I am a frequent blog visitor, so I don't risk missing any. However, happy to sign on.

    1. I very much appreciate it, thank you. When I put something out there, there is a real fear that no-one will be at all interested!

  3. What a great idea, Moira! Your blog is so excellent - has been for years. A Substack is an excellent way to create an archive of it.

  4. It is easy to miss posts when a lot is going on, maybe this will an additional reminder that will help me keep track. I will sign up too.

    1. Thank you! I am still working out what I am doing, but is going well, and feels like a very friendly space. As I say above, a few people had said they would like to get emails about the blog, so I am grateful to them for giving me a push

    1. Thanks! I am astonished at how many people I know are on Substack, and that it is more of an old-school place: not everyone there is sending out newsletters, some of them are there for interest, to read others's stuff, see what's going on. And a very friendly atmosphere

  6. I probably check Clothes in Books more often than I check my email, but have signed up regardless.
