Lots of the stories present at the very least one person in a bad light, and that often includes the writer. One tends to assume therefore that it must be honest and truthful... this may be totally wrong, but you certainly feel as though it's true.<br /><br />Speaking of the late 60s: I've seen a spurious claim that Viv Albertine is reticent about her exact age. She clearly states she was 15 in July 1969 [when she went to the famous Rolling Stones concert in Hyde Park] - how much more exact do people want her to be? Mind you, it is true that the markers she gives in the book mean either that the date of birth shown on Wiki is wrong or Viv is very bad at sums.
