After I have read all the other books on my TBR pile because of this blog. I can't even be sure that I have read Rebecca, as I might have just seen the movie.TracyKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08303342674824383688noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6129427507761315524.post-59567515192750138622014-04-24T08:05:58.775+01:002014-04-24T08:05:58.775+01:00It was so funny about the mumbling complaints - I&...It was so funny about the mumbling complaints - I'd thought it was just me (going deaf) so it was a real surprise to see there were major news items about it. They probably got some extra people to watch the 2nd epi that way, determined to test out their hearing and judge for themselves.Clothes In Bookshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14680610242823846662noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6129427507761315524.post-46888933399106213762014-04-24T08:04:42.876+01:002014-04-24T08:04:42.876+01:00Thanks Margot. Not my cup of tea (and thankfully neither is it the family's!) <br />Saw there was some fuss over the dialogue and apparently some sound issues when the first episode went out, otherwise it would have passed me by totally. col2910https://www.blogger.com/profile/06422138069939709043noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6129427507761315524.post-56235959181993683362014-04-24T03:19:05.222+01:002014-04-24T03:19:05.222+01:00Moira - Melodramatic and 'over the top' it...Moira - Melodramatic and 'over the top' it certainly is. But that's what gives it that flair. And it's also what makes it so ripe for film and television adaptation. I think it translates quite well to that medium. I'm glad you mentioned Jem - He is a great character and I think it's his upbeat outlook if I can put it that way. And yes, the inn itself is quite effectively dark and atmosphere. You've nailed this book, no question. Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
