They're simpler, but they exist.

Am reading Tana French's The Secret Place -- slow at first, but the dialogue between police officers and teenagers at a girls' boarding school in Ireland has me laughing out loud. French just gets what teens say, and how differently they react to authority figures. And the inter-cop banter is equally funny.

Friends have raved about Sarah Waters' The Paying Guest, so it's next on my agenda after I finish French's and an Ian Rankin, which is funny, too.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6129427507761315524.post-43982201942319528202015-01-11T10:03:51.096+00:002015-01-11T10:03:51.096+00:00I hope you enjoy them, and thanks again for the Jo...I hope you enjoy them, and thanks again for the Jo Walton recommendation - you also kept encouraging me on Deighton...Clothes In Bookshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14680610242823846662noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6129427507761315524.post-25381287654726944612015-01-11T06:29:46.501+00:002015-01-11T06:29:46.501+00:00Nice list.
